The mission of the Robert & Frances Chaney Family Foundation is to benefit the welfare of children and families and to support public safety. Grants are awarded in the areas of human services, public safety, faith based programs and other charitable causes.

Types of Support Offered:
Project/Program support grants and a few general operating grants.
Do you fund general operating costs for non-profits? If so, under what conditions?
Yes. However, less than 10% of all grant awards are for general operating support.
Restrictions/ Limitations:
We do not consider applications requesting support for-
§Endowments or annual fund drives
§Indirect or overhead expenses
§Sponsorship of fundraising events
§Visual and performing arts programs
§Property acquisition
Application Process:
The Foundation has an online application process and the Board makes funding decisions twice a year. The Foundation has a spring and a fall grant cycle. Applications are due on or before January 31st and July 31st. During the grant review period, the Foundation may request a site visit or ask that you attend a program review meeting in order to gain more information about your organization and grant proposal. Final grant decisions will be announced 9-12 weeks after each deadline.
